HackHouston 2019 is a 24 hour event at Texas Southern University where hundreds of TECH and NON-TECH students will come together to brainstorm ideas, build software/hardware projects, and most of all, HAVE FUN! You take care of building. We'll take care of you.

  • Participants: Must be 18 years or older and currently enrolled in collge/bootcamp/highschool or have graduated up to one year ago as of the date of this hackathon.


You are allowed to enter ONLY ONE submission for consideration by the judges.

All team members must be registered as a team on Devpost.

All code must be submitted to a Github repo.

Projects must be submitted to Devpost.

Please be prepared to demo your submission IN PERSON to the judges.

Please include the following information in the description for your submission:

  • Inspiration for your submission
  • What your submission does
  • How you built it
  • Challenges that you ran into, and how you overcame them
  • Accomplishments that you're proud of
  • What's next for your product?

Judging Criteria

    How would your project effect society? What are the short-term and long-term application of this project?
    Was the project like nothing you have seen before? Did it use a particularly clever technique? Did it use many different components in a unique way? 
    How good is the user experience? How easy is it to use? how good does it look?
    Does it work as the team intended it to? Is it an optimal way to solve the problem the team is trying to address?
